Dude, you are going to love them! :thumb: Make sure you have them cut out the resonator. :thumb: Bring a towel, so you don't soil the seat. Floor it heavily, and often. :dribble: Go home to remove stupid grin. :D

It sounds awesome the first time you hear it! It really gets deeper about 2 weeks after you have them installed and they clear out a bit... Good choice! :thumb:

I already asked shop about it and they wouldn't do the third cat or resonator cause it's illegal! :frown:

dang! the resonator is illegal to remove :squint: whatever...
I think Paul Nimz did this: have them replace the 2 nuts that hold the 3rd cat to the flex pipe. Go home and easily remove the front end of the 3rd cat. :p Now the back end of it... well good luck. Worst case scenerio, saw zaw the back end of the 3rd cat, leaving about a one foot gap in your exhaust pipe, go to a muffler shop and tell them your exhuast has rusted away and you need a short piece of pipe welded in :)
Like earlier stated, you would NOT regret an exhaust cutout. Heck, I would guess that you would only be out another $45 total to buy it and have it welded in while you are having the Flowmasters put in. Truthfully, with the exhaust cutout, you can leave the res. and 3rd cat alone :****:

"hi, my pipe has rusted out, i need to get a new piece welded in."
"ok, put it on the lift"
Drives car on lift
"hey mike, didnt you do this car yesterday?"
"yeah, why?"

miltown in corner laughing...

Where can I get the cutout from again? To lazy to search! :bonk:

Anyone have any pictures of one installed? Where exactly does it go, don't I have to remove something to make room?

Plus I would still have to hook it up right? They aren't gonna wanna run the wires... :bonk:

Jegs. 2.38 cutout for around $26. "Mustang" is part of item description.

I would assume anywhere in the "1" of the 2-1-2 setup. Either in place of the 3rd cat, or in place of the res. Mine is in place of the res.

There is NOTHING to hook up for the cutout... thats only if you get an electric plate (Mccord, etc...)

Here's mine, electric plate and all:

You could possibly have it installed inbetween the res. and the 3rd cat...

the cutout by itself is capped with a plate held on by 3 wing nuts. I had the cutout installed long before I got the electric plate, so I manually opened and closed the cutout for a while. As a matter of fact, I could cap it or uncap in less than a minute and WITHOUT having to jack up the car. :)
The electric plate will run you $110 plus shipping.

Got them put on today, looks good, still have the stock tips, as for the sound...

STILL NOT LOUD ENOUGH, but better! I know I have to let the mufflers "break in" yet also!

they will get better for you. honestly I was very dissipointed with my flowmasters when I first had them put on (40 series originals) but they sound much nicer now. actually, removing the 3rd cat did wonders for the exhaust note also. if you really want it out, you can remove it yourself. I installed the Jegs cutout in place of my 3rd cat, I built a new bolt ****** and welded it onto the cutout, then I just poped the cat off, and installed the cutout in the same way the cat was installed before. its not really illegal to remove that 3rd one, you just have to convince the shop that its a muffler, it has nothing to do with the emissions system. when's the last time you saw a down stream O2 sensor on it? get a cutout, its one of my fav mods!

definitely! :thumb:

When I had my cams welded in Nashville back in Jan., I was sitting in my car in a parking lot waiting for Rick to show up. I heard what sounded to be a loud muscle car pull in behind me... it was Rick in a "Taurus" :snicker:
He had the 40 series flowmasters, ALONG with a removed 3rd cat/resonator. I ordered my Flowmasters as soon as I got home :D
They helped unleash the note of the v8 a bit, but nothing like Rick's. I assume removal of the 3rd cat does wonders for the sound :dribble:
... that, or an exhaust cutout ;)
