I finally did it! Picked up my first SHO Sunday. She is a black w/gray interioror 98. It was a 4 month long journey to say the least but she is now parked in my garage. I set out knowing exactly what I wanted and didn't settle until I found it. I was looking for either a 95 mtx or a 98 and both had to be under 100k and rust free. Finding that 95 ended up being the most difficult as most were just way to far away and any others I looked at just needed way to much to just get in and enjoy. I actually found this one in Detroit while looking at a 95 that ended up being a rust bucket. This one just rolled 77k on the trip home and is perfect inside and needs a few dings taken care of outside but she still shines. Not sure where my love affair for these cars started but I have been wanting one for quite awhile and it just wasn't in the cards until now. I have owned a total of 5 taurus's and loved them all. I live in Lafayette, IN and need to get my cams welded and she is parked until I find someone (and time) to do it. I have scoured these forums learning everything I can and hope I can get her to a level that will turn heads. Speak up if you are from Lafayette! I have seen 2 in my area and not sure if it is anyone from this forum.

Oh and sorry for the wall of text. I am doing this inbetween jobs on my iPhone LOL!

Welcome!!

And congratulations on being patient and getting what you wanted.

I guess you wouldn't want to hear about a near-perfect '95 Moonlight Blue MTX up north of Detroit!!

LOL. No I wouldn't. This was my last trip. Actually the 95 was my last and as I was looking at the car and writting of yet another wasted trip, I popped up criaglook and saw the 98 30 minutes away and took a stab. Was going to buy a new lap top and 55" LCD tv on my way home if this didn't pan out. It did and now she's home :). I still want a 95 mtx badly but I also wanted this one too. Maybe in a few years I will start looking again unless an ubeatable deal falls into my lap. Until then, time to refill the sho fund.

awesome! someone did their homework before exchanging funds. i bought my 98 with just north of 70k on it 5 years ago. got the cams welded, got the 100k done, and she's been largely trouble free with almost 180k showing on the clock. btw...one of the best SHO tuners in the biz isabout two hours from you...

I will get pics up this weekend when I detail her. I work 2 jobs and my week sucks.

SuperHO, is it Eric? I sent an email and posted on an older thread he posted in but haven't heard anything yet.
