I just purchased a 93 SHO atx with 103000. Everything seems real nice on it. Is there any problems I should know about these cars?
I heard the auto trannys on the taurus is bad? Is that true with the sho too? This is not ganna be a performance car, just for looks and driving.
Do I have anything to worry about? Also how much is it if I were to do the 60,000 survice myself and what all needs to be done? Thanks for any help.

Welcome aboard Tony. The ATX SHOs have a 100k service cycle, instead of the 60k (essentially the same).

I'd do a trans flush myself. The weakest of the ATX years was the 93 (sorry).

There are a lot of different ways of going about the normal 60k items, depending on time, budget, etc.; you could decide you wanted to concentrate on the engine-front & do the crank sensor, timing & accessory belts, front crank seal & water pump; then move on to engine-top & do the valve adjustment, plugs, wires, cam & TPS sensors, etc., or all at one shot. Costs will vary depending on if you do Motorcraft parts for everything, or go with some aftermarket items (stay with the Motorcraft plugs & wires). If you're going to do the services yourself, I highly recommend picking up a shop manual (not a Haynes or Chiltons).

Lots of people on the forum will be around to answer specific questions you may have.

In any case, welcome aboard!
