2012 non PP SHO. Delivered yesterday. Purchased online, so a big roll of the dice for me. 86k miles and clean. I'm not a mechanic, but plan to learn how to do what I need to do, to keep it running right. First issue my senses reveal is a noisy front end. It clicks when braking, around stopping and starting, especially when also turning. So, one the first things I want to do is get the front end steering / suspension worked on. Is there a full kit I should be looking at for a front end package? If I'm spending money on repairs, I'm interested in getting the best shit installed. But, I'm not sure what to look for. Please forgive my ignorance. I took a couple pics of the freshly delivered machine.

Thanks.

I would inspect your cv axles and your brakes, I've had clicking from both on several cars and both will leave you stranded if they decide to let go. since your new to the auto repair thing I would take it to a good shop and have them inspect the brakes and axles, not worth the safety risk until you know for sure what you're looking at, if you find a shop that's a little more relaxed on insurance regulations they might actually show you what to look for. as far as maintenance there a thread dedicated to that, kind of the bible around here for 4th gens.

SM105K's Ownership/Performance/Maintenance Thread

I'd give that a look through, also if you haven't yet I'd suggest posting in the "Introduce Yourself" thread

Thank you for the ideas. I'll definitely have shop diagnose the noise, and look at everything. I found that post and I have it bookmarked. I'll be following that advice for sure. I think what I really need to do is hunt around for a shop that I trust, and get with them on the specifics on how I need it maintained.

I would take it to a good shop and have them inspect
1st - tell them to check the water pump weep hole, even use a dye and see if leaking is slowly occurring between a simple replace and check my fluids stop in.

2nd - have them quote you for a Ford Oil filter and ALL fluid change - including flush and fill coolant, Oil 5-30w SN+ rated oil, check the condition of brake fluids - however refill unless the reading says it is new, PTU/RDU drain and refill with quality fluids. AC refrigerant is full.

3rd - check the Intercooler for oil buildup, they will need to suck it out. Dont allow them to remove - up charge for no reason - use a pump.

4th - check the system for recall items, replace the PCV valve regardless can't hurt to replace on our year models the part of the PCV system and was re-engineered for models after our years.

kryptto, thank you for this advice. I will do just that. Who knows if/when any of this shit was done prior. The Carfax was pretty good and shows all passing inspections, but I have no file of service records.

I've actually called around ford dealers in the past until I find a cool service manager to print the service record. Anything done at ford would be linked to the vin from motor replacements to wiper blades
