So there's a white gen III sitting in a junkyard up by where my kids live. I swung through yesterday to check it out. Interior's pretty stripped, but aside from the vanity cover and the front coils, the engine's entirely intact. Here's my score...

Coilpacks1

Two brand new Motorcraft coils...barely had any dirt on em. I woulda had 4, but I didn't have enough money for all four and still be able to eat next week.

I'm hopin to head back thursday and rip the intake off and grab the LIM for some guttin work.

So do I need a tune to completely get rid of the secondaries?

No, you can remove the secondaries without a tune; but you won't get the full benefit of removing them until you get a tune.

There's one set of FN-74s in the yard, and they're not on the SHO.....and they're MINE.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a heavy enough jacket on to fit 4 coils in, and I didn't have a tool to my name to get the intake. I am, however, thinking about taking my toolbox with me when I head up there thursday....

Andrew, I'm heading to my junkyard next week sometime to pick up a launrdy list of parts; I can try to get a set of FN74 brackets from a Gen 4 if you like.

They are easy to find, almost any yard has them.
I have been collecting them, I am up to 3 sets and I don't even use the '96 upgrade.
But am not looking to part with them. I have two other Bulls in the family that can use them.

sadly, I don't see many g4 or sho's in yards here.....they usually pull the engine/subframes out with the whole knuckle assembly, brakes, sarcs, etc....
otherwise its all slo's

Good find. Let me know if you get parts that you would sell from the motor always can use spares.

99 SHO - Extremely clean
89 SHO MTX - Daily Driver
89 SHO MTX - Needs work
