ok i have heard this is a common problem however i want to figure this thing out for sure. it is a 91 SHO and at idle the tach usually reads about 1000 rpms too high and when driving around it can be very jumpy. however the jumpy tach doesnt effect the engine at all it still drives just fine it is just kinda frustrating to look at. is there an easy fix or a definate fix for this?
thanks :)

My 89 did that until I replaced the guage behind the cluster. I don't know if 91's can do the same thing or require the whole cluster to be swapped.

89
90-91
92-95

If you need a 92-95, I have an extra one I was about to throw away.
