I had the same problem with a 5 of my SHO's. Easy fix, and it will never happen again! Remove your front & rear motormounts. Clean all the oil and excess rubber from around the steal. If you have a hydraulic motor mount, you need to purchase a rubber mount. After the cleaning and removal of rubber by the outside leading edges, take 2 pieces if 1/4" flat stock (steel) and weld them to the upper and lower part of mount. You will notice some vibration in your vehicle, "but if you drive it like you stole it" like I do, that's not a problem. You WILL notice a substantial difference on take off, too! Direct engagement to the axles and no give in the motor mounts.

Your friend is a massive tool. Don't do burnouts, or you'll soon be replacing a transaxle instead of a motor mount.

Also, don't weld the mount solid. Reinforce it yourself with bolts and/or urethane, or buy a reinforced mount. If you weld them solid, something else will break eventually.

Embedded for you:

That exactly. Doing burnouts in a 20 year taurus has not been cool in 20 years.

But, I would purchase reinforced motor mounts from www.SHOsource.com. Trust me they are worth it.

Lol, He got the car for super cheap, and we are just having fun with it. (Like i have a 1990, 100% rust free with only 80k on her perfect inside and out, i DO NOT do massive burnouts.) We where just having some fun at my friends work. And i believe that someone is selling a set of reinforced mounts in the FS section. I may just get them.

Ya, I like to see a huge trail of smoke behind me when I shift into fourth getting up to speed on that onramp. Makes my day.

Good luck replacing them with stock. If you find a front mount for sale in a local store let me know.
