They look like it will go deep in the door...just hope its not to deep because it could hit your window when rolling it donw. Had this problem with my audibahn 6.5", didnt get to put it on.

why would you buy just one if its going into the door?

anyhow we did 3 of these in a small ported encloser and they sounded real nice, you'd swear there were 2 12's back there

I don't know why I said it like that.. I guess its another thing about being from Indiana... did you guys know we drink "Pop" here? lol go anywhere else in the country and they look at you stupid when you ask for it.. :)

I'm very curious to see what this sounds like, because I personally was going to be putting a 8w0 in my box. 75 watts RMS, .3-.6 sealed box volume.... very close numbers... but I wonder how it will do compared to a tighter hitting 6.5".

Also.. I would be cautious about using a 6.5" without a choke / filter on it.... I believe I have 2 of those boat if you want to try to block out the really low stuff. Tried to use them on another JBL sub, but it didn't help it last too much longer... :)

should sound good, are you running the stock amp?

Yes I am, I am not going to crazy, just trying to get it back to something decent to listen to, trying to get things back to as much stock as possible.

the "pop" thing is true, we do ask for "pop", and not soda. How bout' some that fine carbonated beverage :woo-hoo: :nut::munch:

You will probably be able to "hear" what it sounds like this weekend, UPS scheduled delivery for Friday... :woo-hoo:

Up here in Minnesota, we say "pop" also.

I don't know what the stock crossover frequencies are set at, but I would think that the JL woofer can handle whatever frequencies that stock sub is taking. So, in my opinion, the filters are probably not needed. I would listen to the sub first, then determine if it needs a subsonic filter.

I've got one in a custom ported factory box (pics available upon request), and running off a bridged premium sound amp. Of course, mine's stuck down in the wheel well bungee corded and facing the back of the car, which I've found to be the absolute best place to put a box in a SHO.

Well the reason I say this is, the JBL 6.5" couldn't get certian low frequencies, and it was really more harm than good. I can't say the specifics of the JL tho. I really have no idea..

This formula maybe be helpful if you want to find the correct capacitor for your high pass filter.

_____________________1__________________________ = Capacitor value (microfarads)
2 x Pi x Desired crossover frequency x Speaker Impedance

99 out of 100 times the guys at best buy give you the incorrect filter.

I don't shop @ Best Buy for that kinda stuff. We got a really good shop here in town with some "old" knowledgeable people there. 22 MicroFarads was the ones I ended up with for my JBL 6.5". Think that sounds right.. I'd have to double check.. :)

That's the way to go. I like Best Buy, but the people that work in the car audio section aren't very knowledgeable. I wouldn't trust them to work on my car either. I've seen some bad installs on Best Buy's part.
