I've been having this problem for a while now, 1991 Ford sho the car jerks but it doesn't do it all the time. Its not hesitating its more of a violent ****. Ive replaced everything but before I get to that these are the codes.
I've had the computer tested both running and not running and got these.

#14 PIP Ignition Profile Pickup.
#18 SPOUT, IDM circuit failure.
#49 SPOUT EDIS, SAW signal problem.

Now as far to what I have replaced so far it seems like everything. Fuel pump, DIS module, Oxygen sensors Iac sensor. Fuel filters, Full tuneup. Ect Ect.

Now if anyone had this problem or has an idea how to fix it I really need your input. Its getting close to the holidays and I cannot have this problem while traveling and such.....

PIP means you need a new crank sensor. I have never seen that code except when the crank sensor needs replaced. this will eventually leave you stranded, so fix it sooner rather than later.

changing the crank sensor may fix the other codes or it may not, but start there.

Thank you very much for your quick reply ruby, I will change that sensor out shortly. But I was wondering what that Spout circuit meant? Ill start at the crank and see If that turns those other codes off or not.

'spout' means spark output -

there are a couple of jumpers that should be in place to tell the pcm to operate the control software normally, one or both of those could be missing or a bad connection. or the dis could be sick. or the crank sensor signal could be messing it up, since the crank sensor appears to be sick. so, the best thing is to replace the crank sensor (be certain you gap it correctly!) and then see if those codes re-appear.
