last week I found a '94 ATX in the j-yard, I'd been there a week earlier so I knew the car was fresh.. and everything was pretty much intact.. and since I was in the market for a new subframe and spare trans I figured... sure.. why not. My dad and I pulled the whole subframe with everything still attached and it'll be going into my '93 and I'll give him the 3.2 in there now so he can give his '92 a little more pep.. the j-yard car had 151K miles, and I think it was probably lacking on the maint... who knows though? but since it's out of the car I figured it's a good idea to get all the work out of the way.

On the list already:
-timing belt
-valve cover gaskets, plugwell seals
-intake gaskets, clean intake
-3.0 cams, valve adjustment
-rod bearings
-change fluids

 this is all I can come up with off the top of my head.. add to my list!! I want this engine to be perfect.

A few pics..

I have a spare ATX intake and valve covers so of course I'll throw some color on there..

Having just rebuilt my 3.2 here is a few suggestions:

Take out and throughly clean the timing chain tensioners. It only takes a few mintues and can save a lot of trouble.

I would replace the water pump, CPS, and CID sensor while it is all out.

I would also replace the front main seal, rear main seal, and all the cam seals.

I would also replace the oil pressure sending unit on the back of the motor, so you don't have to worry about it.

That's all I can think of now. That really looks like a lot of fun, I enjoyed doing the same thing this past summer. I am jealous.....
