Just sharing....I've been auto Xing for about a year now (total of 5 events) and got to go to an Auto X driving school last weekend put on by the FWSCCA. It was a blast. They set up a course and a couple of other practice area (a fast turn, slow turn ect) and let us have at it. I ended up pulling a couple of 270's in the fast turn area (dang gravel patches). By the end of the day there were a # of people who couldn't understand how a 15yr old taurus was beating them. To name a few there was a '05GTO and a jetta VR6.

Just wanted to share my excitement.

Sweet, I'll bet they had no idea what was under your hood.

yeah, I got a few of those questions "That's the one with the V8, right?" or "It's a turbo, right?". I just kinda smiled and told them it's just a 3L V6.

It really is amazing to see the SHO do so well. If you think about it, it shouldn't be that fast on an autocross course: it's FWD, poorly balanced (roughly 65/35 F/R weight distribution), and has a fairly long wheelbase. Yet it defies physics and has the potential to be one of the faster cars out there.

I'm still hoping to see a few more of the Fort Wayne area guys (or gals) out there one of these days. A couple more seasons and a few more mods and I'm hoping to be in the top 3rd of my SM class....dang corvettes ect.
