Is TwEECer the only solution for us?

Can we not use something like EEC Editor?

Or maybe Tunerpro RT.

I already have an Ostrich emulator that I use for my Honda stuff, and it would be nice to be able to get some more use out of it witht he SHO. Craig Moates has all the EEC IV adapters and such.

Anybody have any experiences?

Umm... yes.

Nothing Moates has will work with the SHO. I already tried. The problem, as is often the case, is the rarity of the SHO. It was a very hard push to get support from the TwEECer even! Nobody has completely mapped out the SHO ECUs, and if they have, they're keeping it a seecrit.

Start saving up...

If money is a major issue and you are not doing anything extremely extreme, you might be able to find a used SCTuner that should work. They were "pre-TwEECer" and dropped off the radar due to the fact that you can't datalog with it. (Unless of course you back probe the sensor and datalog using something else).

Thanks for the replies.

Nothing major done to it. Dunno if/when I may change anything.

Well. I guess if/when I decide to start modding the SHO, I will have to go with the Tweecer. I would love to be able to use the Moates stuff, but I don't have the knowledge to decipher and map out the ROM.

Remember, that no matter what the tuning solution, it is only as good as the ECU functions it has mapped out.
Tweecer has the most complete mapping of the X2J, including many cool functions that were not available just a couple months ago.
But......depending on what you do, you may not really need all those functions, and the basic functions of the other tuning solutions might be good enough.

Yes and yes, although as you noted, you will need a proper definition map for either solution to be useful.

Nobody has completely mapped out the SHO ECUs, and if they have, they're keeping it a seecrit.
Josh and I are the only two people within the community that have the most complete maps (read 80%+ complete for the X2J and D4U1) of the V6 SHO computers. Although their feature set has improved over the years, SCT still cannot touch what he have.

Look for more details from Josh on this point very soon.

Out of respect for Beth and the forum rules, I don't want to speak out-of-turn here, but I do have an old (but complete and functional) EEC-Tuner tuning kit with the SCTuner software sitting in my closet. I would be willing to let it go for a dirt cheap price.

Contact me privately if you're interested.
