Happens to cam failure cars all the time. Often it just snaps in half and blows a hole out the side of the block. Either way, I'd just replace the motor instead of trying to rebuild it.

If you spun a bearing on top of bending a rod, yeah, throw the motor away and find another one.

why should i thought it away im getting a new crank and got the new connecting rod now all i need is new bearings which i from for all the shortblock bears for under 300-400$ new so why would this motor be junk. already has welded cams from befor and heads are pretty much new cuz the cams failed (befor i know about the cam failur) fixed it had the cams welded and put the car back 2getther ran great till i got on it to hard 1 day red lining it and then got to were i was goin like 5 miles down the road ran in and cam out and knock knock knock that rod knock it was very small dam and also i forgot to say he i was not livin with my mom and dad i had the car park at my house and my dad has all the tools need at ther house to fix so i was goin to get new bearings and fix it so i lived about 15 miles from them so i was goin to drive it to ther house so im on my way and all of a suden the car stalls i was like **** thru a rod well nope the damn crank sensor wire fell off after that the dam thang knocked loud so i park it right away and it has been sitting sence pulled it all apart and had one bent connecting rod 1 spun bearing same connecting rod and crank was messed up a tade so i found a good crank for 50$ go it and a new connecting rod for 10$ wow 60$ fix now all i need is the bearings and i done so why dont this sound like a good idea to me is dose also a engine rebuild shop told me that is every well know and has done motors for my famliy for over 30 years that this would be an easy and cheap fix and they would or could grind my stock crank and make it work with over sized bearings but i thought thos might be hard to find.

Buy a brand new factory shortblock on Ebay right now for $1000.00 and save yourself the trouble of finding the parts needed to rebuild yours.

I measure tolerances with micrometers when I build a motor, what are you going to use?

Best of luck to you. I've personally rebuilt close to 300 V8 SHO motors now, and when there is a bent or broken rod or busted off valve head, the crank goes in the rubbish.

nope the motor still went around just had a rod knock that sounded like it should have gone thru the motor because it was bad. and when i pulled it apart the inside were clean, and ther was a spun bearing same connecting rod that bent.
