The SHO is not so much high maintenance as it is maintenance intensive. If the car isn't abused and the required preventative maintenance services are performed on schedule, you shouldn't have a great many of the problems that are discussed in this section. My SHO has provided a long lifetime of dependable service and thorough enjoyment, but I have been willing and able to pay the costs of the effort to maintain it properly.
Another consideration to address with your question: these are not new cars. The V6 SHOs are at least 7 years and an much as 14 years past their production dates. Time and miles will wear a great many of the parts on the SHO or any car. There are probably few other automobile types where the owner group is as enthusiastic about their cars (Porshce owners come to mind). We drive these cars hard. Some are just downright abused.
