ok guys as some of you might know I got in an accident with m car and am still in the process of fixing it. To make a long story short when i first got the car home it had leaked a pretty good sized puddle of amber colored fluid in my driveway within a day or two. then the leaking stopped. I finalyl got the car together and i took it for a drive, when i got back it was leakign a dark colored fluid (probably ps fluid) that was dripping from the ps rack. It looks to be leakign from eather over the boot or from the rack itself. So my question is, is there an amber colored fluid that is sealed in the ps rack, i believe called the poser steering?

Edit: heres a link to the accident thread so you can see where the car hit, I dont think it really had much to do with the accident but im thinking it had to. Thad be a really wierd coincidence.

The rack uses ATF which is usually red. Check your PS reservoir for its level and color.

The only thing I can think of that might have amber colored fluid might be your brakes. Normally, it's clear, but I have seen it yellow before. Check your brake fluid reservoir.

Of course, you can buy yellow colored antifreeze/coolant. Check your radiator.

The good thing is is I jsut changed all my fluids before the accident. PS is nice and red, antifreeeze is nice and green oil is nice and clean and the brakes fluid is clear as glass. The only spot that my brake fluid was leaking from the accident was the right rear. I have no idea what could have left a puddle and then not leak again, it had to have emptied its container. Im so confused but I dont want to drive the car because I dont want to break something because it had no fluid. Does the power steering rack have a sealed case that has amber colored fluid in it? or only the ps fluid runs through it?
