I just bought catted downpipes and was wondering if heat was necessary since the pipes are bigger and may sit closer to PTU and other components.

I live in Colorado Springs so it sounds like I should get them coatedIf you live in a climate where your don't get a lot of moisture, then yes I would wrap them. If you live where you get of water, I would get them coated.

Anything you spray on with a can will not last. It'll flake off probably within 6 months.Do any of you know anyone who has used VHT flameproof on any exhaust part?
... if your really adventurous, have some downpipes made of 321 stainless. Even more corrosion resistant and holds in heat like ceramic coating does. It's pricey though...
Lol yeah, it's pricey. It's an option, but not one most, or any, would likely use.whew, and people thought $725 for downpipes was expensive... $140/ft haha
