I quoted the OP in my post. and I felt that 4speed should be included in the first part of what I had to say

So the stock intake has no restriction in it, and no one would benefit from an aftermarket or straight through design?

That is correct. The stock intake tract is not a restriction. Dyno tests have proven this out. If I recall correctly (and I'm pretty sure I do)...A SHO was chassis dyno'd with many different intake configurations including a home-brew CAI, a SHOShop CAI, Stock CAI, No filter, KN Filter, no intake at all...There was less than 2HP to be gained. I think that 2 HP came from the stock CAI and NO FILTER.

So in a word...

Yes.

Seriously , did you even read what everyone said?

Perhaps you should open up your airbox to see how its made , because even if theres 20 people saying it , I dont think you are believing anything thats being said here.

basically what everyone is trying to tell you is that our cars already come with one and all you should ever need to do is rip out the intake horn muffler and drop a k&n panel filter in.

These aren't honda's so "cold air intakes and headers/exhaust" aren't the first "mods" you do.

if you are looking for that then go buy one.

You guys do realize that Not4Speed is not the OP here, right?

I think he was just asking for 100% clarification that, not only is the stock intake tract a CAI, but it's unrestricted and can't really be improved for power on a stock engine.

And the answer is yes. It can be improved for better sound, but the power is pretty much all there from stock.

I don't think all of that venom is really necessary here. It was just a simple question that was technically not explicitly answered yet in this thread.

^^^^^THIS! :thankyou:

The stock flows more than your engine will need. Unless you want a cool sound, you'll be fine with whats already there. You'll see MUCH better improvements if you have an MTX and do a y-pipe.

Oh my God someone else that understands! :thankyou:

Again :thankyou: someone can just post without being a dick.

I do agree with what other's have said.
I have/used about every CAI you can on a V6 SHO.

Remove the silencer cone and drop on a K&N panel filter.
Done.

If our stock intake is that great then I think somebody should write a book about it.

I am going to start throwing them on E-bay for 2JZ swaps...

Greatest intake on the face of the planet!
