OK it's like this. I distinctly remember when we went to this car lot, the first thing you said to me when you saw this Probe was "FSHOC project car!?". You made me get on the phone and ask Nick what he thought about it and basically since you're living on base you can't have the car sitting there (especially when it's not registered) and even after you move to the apartment, most apartment communities frown on changing spark plugs in the parking lot, much less trying to do engine swaps. So basically the car is at my house, the most convenient and sensible place to work on it, and I'm not asking for full rights to the car by any means, but if the thing is taking up space in my yard I think I (and Nick since he mows the grass lol) should have some sort of say in what we're going to do with it. When I was out taking pictures of it to post on here you were talking about it being the "official fshoc project car, donated by me". Maybe you didn't mean for that to come out of your mouth? Because I wouldn't have posted any of this and got anyone to thinking we were going to have a good time with this car if I had reason to believe that was not your intention. It was your decision to make the investment to benefit the club (which is what you originally told me this car was for), and at this point I'm basically going to ask you to take it or leave it, which you have full rights to do since no one has laid a finger on the car yet and the title is in your name. Between the rest of us, we are fully capable of coming up with a cheap mtx Probe, heck, even a cheap SHO we can gut and do something with. So before we start to work out what to do with this car, you need to make a decision as to whether it's fair game or not and we'll go from there.
The point is, no one in their right mind is going to donate endless hours, extra parts, brain power, what have you... to YOUR car. If they can't borrow it for a weekend track event, if they get no use out of it, why would they throw valuable time and money into something? Reverse the situation. I know that Nick's '93 is perfectly track capable after a little work, but are you going to buy him new tires, brakes, 5 point harnesses, and a timing belt tensioner just so he can go race and you can stand there and wave as he goes by? Didn't think so. If it's a club car, it should remain a club car with available access to any member (under certain guidelines which should be worked out in writing first).
SO... I'm off saturday and sunday if you want to come get the car. Let me know if I need to start looking for another car for everyone.

so im out the money i paid for it or hows that work i could sell it to the club cheep but until i get another sho i need the probe to stay affiliated hence the sho motor

If everyone wants to use the Probe, lets collect say $20 (I am just throwing out options) and if the amount we can collect is good for kubeanie122 then we get title and it becomes the clubs car. I thought the car was donated at first and then realized it wasn't. It's not up to me, especially if the car stays in JAX at Tara and Nicks place.

A project car is normally donated by a fellow member or bought for very cheap by the members. If you want to wait a few weeks, I am sure I can find a decent project Probe or SHO for well under $500 that is what we want it for...a project. If I knew we wanted one that bad, I would have brought up my old 92 for free and we could have gone from there instead of strip it for other cars and junk it.

Also, just because you don't own a SHO at the moment, does NOT mean you cannot belong. Jason just sold his old one to Nick and is in getting another one or swapping in a driveline in the near future. No one ever kicked him out of the club. As long as you pay your dues and buy a decal and do not get on our nerves, you are welcome to stay a member.

Since this isn't the FSHOC's car yet there is no reason to reply to this thread until the Probe or another car is officially acquired (kubeanie122, you can talk to Tara via PM or call her, just wait till she is awake after like 10a.m. since the car is at her place and you need to talk directly to her). Tara and I have thrown out some options but until we have a final answer, I am locking this up. Since we are in agreement with everything we have discussed, we will unlock it if we do get this Probe or start a new thread with a true club car and let this thread go bye-bye.

Any leads on a project car (particulary a V6 MTX Probe or SHO) please PM them to Tara or myself pefore you post a "lookie at this car, we should get it". The way we set this club up, you only pay a yearly $5 fee to cover some of the costs we have. This do not cover them all and Nick, Tara, and I end up covering the rest of the fees. This is very minimal and does not allow us to bank up money to throw towards a project car. We would like to keep it that way because its hard to ask for alot of money from you guys because we are all in the same boat. So if we do find something we like and cannot get it for free, we need to have the members chip in a few bucks to cover it. Otherwise we are not ready for a project car.
