Intermittent AC

I have a 2013 sho non pp! The problem I’m having is no AC at times! Sometimes I can start my car and the AC will not work! I noticed that when it does this the idle is rough and it fluctuates up and down! No matter how long I drive the AC will not work! I can stop the car for a while,restart it and the AC will work fine and the idle is normal! No idea when is going to happen!

The pcm controls the compressor. If there is an engine performance concern, the pcm may not activate the compressor. You may be able to look at it to see the the compressor clutch is engaged to confirm there is another fault present. Checking for dtcs or what cylinders are misfiring and resting that fault may get your A/C working again.

Small comfort to know that you are not the only one. I had the exact same thing happen to me a few months ago. I was already on the interstate when I began to get concerned. Also in heavy traffic. Not the ideal time to shut off the engine. I finally took an exit ramp, found a safe place to stop. Shut off the car and restarted. All returned to normal. Chalked it up to pesky glitches in the electronics.
