In my 93 MTX SHO, when I turn the car on, the interior lights will come on and the doors will lock. Also, when I turn the car off, the doors will unlock and the interior lights will turn on. I was just wondering if there is a way to disable this feature, because sometimes the lights coming on gets annoying. Is this the autolock feature or something different?? Thanks for the help.

OK, I searched on how to disable autolock, and found nothing, but in the owner's manual, there is a procedure to disable it. But, this requires the keypad on the driver's door to disable it. The problem is, I don't have a door keypad, all I have is the "aftermarket" Ford alarm/remote keyless entry. I found the SHOTimes procedure that said to disconnect a sensor under the driver's seat, and I disconnected the only plug down there, but that plug controlled the power seat functions. So, bottom line, I don't want autolock, I have no driver's door keypad or driver's seat weight sensor, so how do I disable autolock???

Sounds like you might have a aftermarket alarm. So alarms have this feature. But instead of you riping apart your dash to find out if you do ..... Check again under your seat. Remove the 4 bolts if needed. There are going to be 3 main connectors. 1 for the power seat, 1 for the seat sensor, & 1 for the seat belt.

Try removing the seat first. If you still don't have one then its a aftermarket alarm.

How many buttons on the key fob transmitter? I have the instructions for the "System 6" Ford aftermarket alarm (made by CodeAlarm) which has three buttons. Arm, Disarm, and Panic.

1. Open the LF door
2. Turn the ignition on
3. Press and hold the disarm button. After 10-15 seconds the alarm siren will chirp 3 times.
4. Release, press, and release the disarm button. The siren should chirp 4 times.
5. Use the "Lock" button on the transmitter to move between the 8 options. The siren will chirp the option number. (i.e. option 8, the alarm chirps 8 times) The "Unlock" button turns the option on or off. The alarm armed indicator will light up when the option is "On."
6. Turn the key off when done programming.

Option 1, Autolock when the ignition is turned on.
Option 2, Auto Unlock when the ignition is turned off.
Option 3, Courtesy lights turn on when the ignition is turned off.
Option 4, Disable starter when the ignition is turned off.
Option 5, Activate alarm "Auxiliary" output.
Option 6, Automatic arm after 2 minutes after exiting vehicle.
Option 7, Siren chirps when arming/disarming.
Option 8 (the odd one), duration of "Auxiliary" signal when activated. The light will flash 1 - 4 times depending on the setting. 1 blink is .6 seconds, 2 blinks is 6 seconds, 3 blinks is 12 seconds, and 4 blinks is 24 seconds.

I suddenly realized I needed to clarify the previous answer. When I said use the disarm button to activate the progarmming sequence, I meant the manual disarm button mounted in the instrument panel somewhere. It is a small black button, usually installed either on the fuse panel bracket or in the top of the glove box.

Well I don't know if mine is aftermarket or not, seems stock enough, but it definitely has the autolock.

NEAPnanny - I tried the procedure that you told me, as my remote has only 2 buttons, arm and disarm. I can get the first 3 chirps out of the alarm, but after that, it won't chirp the 4 times.

Anybody else out there have a procedure on how to do this with a remote with 2 buttons?

Ford never came out with a 2 button remote. You have to have a aftermarket alarm like Chapman. Ford was known to install these in their cars.

I have a 93 atx also, with a two button remote that says ford on it. mine does the same except the doors dont unlock when the ignition is off. I'm not sure if my alarm is stock or not, I dont believe it to be since i was told ford didnt put sirens in the cars. My friends 97 thunderbird had a two button remote it also says ford. These are made by chapman for ford? I will see if i can find some info on changing the procedures. I will have to look for the manual override button also.

Okay well, fcc says that the id number is for
Code Systems Inc
950 E Whitcomb
Madison Heights, MI 48071
United States

The use is original equipment, but it was last filed in 96. i wouldnt think they need to renew it so.. it isnt stock, at least mine, fcc-id GOHM24

CodeAlarm and Chapman seem to be the the companies i've found associated with them, but most of the pages i've been to are under construction, or just not working. I'll try to get more info when i have time, sorry i couldnt help any.
