I have ventured to guess a spring that returns the handle to back to the door panel is broke or out of alignment. I have to push the door handle back to the original position. I have this problem with my '88 Mustang as well but have not fixed it yet. But the problem with the SHO is a little different though. Sometimes the lock **** at the top of the door will slide down when I close the door. It is not being pulled down by the actuator for I do not hear the actuator and all of the other looks are still up. Also, sometimes I cannot open the door from the inside unless I press the unlock button prior to pulling the interior door handle. Is something else wrong with the door handle other than a worn return spring on the interior door handle? What is the problem and how can it be repaired?

Yes, a spring has broken that returns the handle to its rest position. You can access the workings without removing the door panel, but just the local panel at the handle. I have replaced this broken spring with a homemade replacement. I did this on SHOFUN 93's retired '93.
