Gas is $$ WALK!
For the past month or so I have noticed a few unsettling noises coming from my TOB. It only happens when the car is stone cold, and when the clutch pedal is to the floor. It is a "buzzing" and "scraping" sound associated with the TOB/PP contact. ONLY when the clutch pedal is completely buried into the carpet. So I accustomed myself to not pressing the pedal in all the way until I looked into it further.
At first I thought that the clutch tensioner might be overtensioning it, so when the pedal is fully depressed, the TOB is actually beying pushed beyond its ideal depth into the PP.
Today I had a few projects on my mind. One of which was to look more into this issue.
It looks as though the clutch pedal STOP pad is nearly completely deteriorated
So my original thoughts were somewhat correct. All I did to remidy this was fasten a rubber pad to the pedal itself with a hose clamp.
Good as gold. It still goes far enough to hit the clutch interlock switch, but not TOO far. :corn:
