My buggy is in Phoenix getting the rear frame finished (droped it off lat saturday the 19th) and might be done by this Saturday. If it is I will definately stop by for a visit. I fell off a new carport roof I am building at my house for my buggy on the 8th and was in the hospital for 3 days with some complications in my left lung. The lung is OK now and now just putting up with a few cracked ribs.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for Saturday

Can't do Saturday, but I'd love to scrape up the leftovers on Sunday. With a bit of instruction, I may be able to finish up loosening the front end from the SHO. I'd guess I still need to disconnect exhaust, steering, one heater hose, shift linkage and 2 pesky ABS sensors in the front knuckles, but those probably aren't meant to come out, since every knuckle I saw alying around had them still attached.

There's one small bolt holds the ABS sensor to the knuckle. Sometimes they're difficult to remove, but a little penetrating oil should help. Just don't mash or pry on the sensor, but they are removable.

Better still, though just leave the knuckle on the end of the strut in the car. That way you can leave the ABS connected and the brake line connected as well. It's not too hard to separate the knuckles/driveshafts and drop the driveshafts with the tranny/motor/subframe, and leave the knuckles and struts in the car.

Got a broken message from Joe...I think. I'm pretty sure he was trying to tell me about the get together. What time are people going to be showing up and what should I bring? -Showed up to the UTI drags a little late and wasn't able to get a tech isnp on my ride but I came back later that evening to run in the Sat Night drags- Pretty good time- ran best 15.06 @ 93(smokin a G35 coupe) and a few 15.1s. Anyway, I'll try to get back at Joe but if not, how do I get there?

I discovered that our group has two track events in December, one being next weekend, so I decided to not go to PIR on Sunday. So I won't be quite so desparate to get a lot done on the Pumpkin.

See ya'll tomorry...lookin' forward tuit.

I'm thinking of heading up pretty early, if that's ok. I'm shooting for around 9 or so. Don't know when people are heading up but I'll probably see you there. I have family in town for Thanksgiving and some cousins I haven't seen in about 10 years. They're great and one has a baby and we're all getting together for the zoo in the afternoon, so I'll be leaving earlier than I planned. However, I hope to meet back up later at the Pavilions. We'll see.

See you all tomorrow!

Hey Tom,

Sorry can't make it today. Work in their infinite wisdom decided that the project schedule needs to be brought in. So guess who had to work ALL holiday weekend.

Hopefully I can make it up for the next one.

Rav.

the v8 diddn't quite make it to the Pavillions due to an exploded inboard cv. Will fix it Sun and try not to wreck anything else in doing so. Dooleyville is a kickass place and it's nice to know I'm not the only one with the SHO plauge. We should Plan a weekend at the strip sometime! Anyway, lots of fun Sat. -Thanks again Tom!

Bummer, Nick. Missed you and Tom at the Pavillions.

You definitely have one of the nicest sounding SHOs I've come across. That thing really does sound cool. Looks nice as well.

Thanks to everybody that came out, and it was nice to meet the new guys.

BTW, Tom, I uploaded the vid I mentioned about the F1 engine test. If you look closely you can see that although there are no wheels mounted, this is a full engine/tranny test (my understanding is that it was actually more of a tranny test), and the rear disk rotors are turning under power.

The car is just sitting on what looks to be a comparatively flimsy stand, and even when revving the thing barely moves. There's not a lot of torque or drivetrain mass, so the chassis twisting on the stand is pretty minimal.

I also like how the headers glow after just a few seconds of idling. :dribble:

Sucks Nick, sorry to hear that. Inboard CV was a surprise to hear. When we heard the CV was shot, I thought for sure it would have been the outer due to the severe angle we put on it to get it back in the spindle. Not a bad fix though. NAPA has cv's with lifetime warranties for about 60 bucks.

On a side note, you didnt miss much at the Pavillions. It was dark, cold windy, and only 400 cars. Lots of space for parking. I did see a pretty slick car there....albeit cheezy by Eric's lofty standards. Then again, Eric was up till 1:30 am making forum posts.

Here is a link to nice pics of the most kick ass car I ever saw (when I was 12)

The car at the show looked like this in every way....even had wig wags.

That black car has been there before, because I remember the fake blower and talking to the guy about it.

Here are the cars that were there previously that I was trying to remember:

So Nick, is that your old axle lying on the work bench? What in the heck happened to it? I assume you got the new one in and everything's right with the world now.
