Just completing my valve cover/spark plug/intake gasket changes and I am having issues with the last two bolts not fitting on the EGR valve...

Everything else fit nicely, but the two holes for this are about 1/4 to 3/8" too high (manifold side). The lines aren't binding on anything, yet I just can't get it up enough to make the holes match...

I am thinking the gasket might have rolled, but to me it doesn't account for such a large height difference between the intake and this accessory. The valve cover is currently sitting with about 1/8" gap between it and the block...

Suggestions? I don't want to force it- it should fit naturally like everything else did...

Is the intake fully seated? It has dowel pins to align it on.

Pictures?

What is the detailed procedure for installing the intake?

Everything seemed to seat properly (even with the bolts hand tightened I could shake the whole car by pushing the intake, which seemed firmly planted)...

Also, the hood wont latch- the extreme right side of the intake seems to be the culprit, but the intake manifold still has metal on metal contact with the rest of the engine.

Thinking I will remove and replace to see if I have missed anything obvious, but the process went so well I doubt I will find anything this time around.

Obviously I had a good contact on the gasket, all the pins were aligned, none of the bolts were cross threaded....

Valve covers look fine, try reinstalling the intake again, shift it around a little to make sure it's on all the way, with no bolts in it.

I had no interference on the valve covers (or anything else I could see) and metal on metal contact at all attachment points...

Here goes round two!

great. I had some what a problem as yours but like you had done, pulled everything back off and reinstall and it all dropped in place.

I dont mean to sound like a dick, but did you clean the gasket surfaces before your final round of installing the intake? Im just asking because it looks kinda dirty.
