Intake Air Temp Sensor

i removed the factory air box and installed some tubing and a open cone filter in my fender but i was wondering about the air temperature sensor that sits in the airbox where should i have that? if it senses the hot engine heat being exposed am i going to loose performance appose to it being in the airbox away from the heat, when i pull it i get CEL

I drilled a hole in my tube, and installed it there, so it would measure the temp of the air in the intake tube, not the engine bay.

I also drilled a hole on the rubber elbow that I installed for my intake after taking off the air box.
