I have a couple of questions regarding the above...

1) When installing the BBB's there are 'metal tubes' that go into the runners, before you put the BBB's on. Do you need them or can I press on without them? If so what is to be gained or lost from having them or not???

2) Once that is complete, what is the best way to put the intake back together & get it on the car? I was thinking to bolt on the snakes, and then assemble the runners / BBB's around them. Does that sound like a good idea or no? What have others done?

I just don't want to scratch up the paint, and more importantly I want to make sure there are NO leaks!

Thanks, Sal:salute:

What a lot of people do is assemble the intake with the intake hose clamps loosened. Put the whole intake on the heads and wiggle as necessary to tighten the bolts down... then tighten the hose clamps. Voila!

And the horns become a huge restriction to BBBs, thus completely negating the point of installing them.

Remove them.

#1 Do not use the velocity stacks.
#2 Assemble the snakes first, then the plenum's. Now you can put the intake on the car. Make sure the intake seats flush on the head ports.
Now you can tighten the runner bolts. Tighten the hose clamps last.

Isn't it nice to have someone actually answer your question.;)

Hey Area 91, just curious, what does your "91 lightly modded" have done to it? I noticed you ran a 14.5 with it... I'm also guessing you're a pretty good driver?!...

X's 2... OR you can assemble the entire intake manifold first but just leave the clamps a bit loose, just loose enough for the snakes to "wiggle" so that they sit flush on the heads. Then tighten all 12 bolts & then the clamps.
