I want to install an aftermarket speedo to match the rest of my gauges. What have you guys used for this? My downpipe literally rests on the speedo cable, so im hoping I can use the wire part of it instead.

This is what im using.

i am currently playing around with the VSS, its a 2 wire sensor that the factory computer uses to check canister purge and cruise among other things. but it dont use it for the speedo which would have been nice.

to help you out look for wire DG/W. which is + speedo sensor or pin 3 on the computer pinout, this should be all you will need to get it working then also if you need - side of the VSS it is wire O/Y or pin 6.
from what i know the speedo is a 2 wire hall magnet sensor not the typical VR that is used in OBD2 type cars

it should be no problem wiring this to a speedo no need for a converter or anything.
that is unless the speedo is made for the VR sensor which rears 0 volts = 0 mph and 5 volts = max speed. so then you would need a converter box.

also is that the type you can calibrate driving down the road at 60 for 2 minutes or something?

I wonder what Phoenix is using in his Gen 4.

And SHOGUN :p

The speedhut ones i got , You plug it into the vss actually you plug it with the wire that comes in the cluster.

Then to calibrate it correctly , you need to press a button to do so and you drive 2miles exactly (use the highway markers). And then you are good.

But speedhut also have GPS model where you dont wire anything it tells your speed through a gps sensor that you hide on your windshield.

I looked at the speedhut gauges because of you and novass having them, but I would really like to match my cobalt c2 gauges that I have in my car.
