So I just got a 3 gauge pillar pod from gaugepods.com and have a few questions about installing it

Do I need to remove the current trim piece on the pillar, or do I just screw it into that?

Where do I run wires to the gauges? I don't see any obvious places to route them up from behind the dash or into the back of the pillar pod. Since the pillar pod lays flat against the current trim piece, it almost looks like I'd need to pull off the current trim piece, route the wires behind there then drill holes into each pod area.

The stock trim piece stays. You just screw the new one onto it. As for the wiring, run the wires between the pillar pod and the stock pillar piece.

I removed my trim piece and ran all the wires behind it. I connected it to a power supply from the radio control.

My pod screwed to the existing trim.
I then ran my wires behind the stock trim, and tapped into the fuse box.
This is on my Green 91+.

I removed my trim piece entirely. If you want to see how it looks this way, the picture on the website for the Gen2 SHO is mine.

Where did you route the wires between the radio and the gauge pod?

Thanks a lot for the help everyone! I got it installed today and it looks much better than my AFR clock.

I ended up running the wires behind the existing trim piece then drilling a hole for them to go to the gauges. To get the wires to the trim piece I used a box cutter to enlarge the gap between the dash and the frame and pushed them through there.
