I always like to put goofy mods on my cars and one of my favorite has been a PA speaker to yell at/surprise people. I had one shoe-laced under the fender on my mercury sable for a long time, but when I upgraded to the SHO, there was no room under the fender to put it :frown:

Well today I woke up motivated and found the perfect spot for one! I was able to make it fit on top of the sub frame on the driver's side.

To install it, I moved the power steering cooler and CCRM out of the way, put the mount down, drilled the holes (you have to put the drill on top of the subframe from the bottom, then reach down from the top to use it), screwed it down with some wood screws (They work surprisingly well in metal), then bolted the speaker back to the mount.

Then for the wiring, I ran the wires into the passenger compartment through the grommet in the firewall above the gas pedal. I have it hooked up to a PA amp I got at goodwill for like $5 or something.

It's pretty fun to surprise people with, and on Halloween I'm planning to wish people a Merry Christmas much to their confusion :snicker:

Good thing you have an 89. On 90 and up cars the canister for the cruise control is there.
