inside trunk release problem

Anyone know how to take the slack out of the trunk release cable from a 95 SHO? The keyless release works but the cable operated one down by the fuel door release never has enough travel to pop the trunk open.

I also have this problem in my 95 and its a pain. Hope somebody will post a solution.
