My inside door handle has lost all resistance. It's really loose. It's loose until you get to the point of where you open the door. The door still opens from the inside and outside and the doors lock fine and everything so i guess i could live with it for now. There is no resistance until the point of where the door actually starts to open. thanks in advance. shoot

There's a retractor spring in the lever mechanism that pulls the hyandle in and keeps it tought. The spring probably broke. My driver side door ids the same way. All the locking, latching and releasing mechanisms will work just as they are suposed to. All you end up with is the inconvenience of a sloppy handle. Mine has been like that for a year. Too lazy to fix it I guess. Check a J-yard or some place local and snag one out of a good one. Or you can take the old one out first and see if you can find a similar one at a hardware store or parts store.

I replaced one for Jeremy Hohn by making one out of similar spring material I had on hand. You can access the mechanism by removing only the handle assembly. It would be simpler to install a complete handle assembly that you found at a junk yard than the drill out the pivot pin and install the replacement spring. Probably just as checp too.
