Vacuum plays a big role in the controls, find the vacuum supply line from the engine.

so are you saying the fan doesn't run no matter what you do? or that the air always goes to defrost no matter what you do?

Probably either the BCM or the blower motor (though I'm still not sure if there is electricity to the EATC). Luckily both of these are accessible through the glovebox (at least on Gen 1 cars).

I'm not sure how similar Gen 2 HVAC setups are to Gen 1, but you can refer to a picture I took of the plenum. The blower control module is the white sticker just below the electrical connectors.

You can check for voltage from the connectors as well. The blower harness is the one that extends over thetop of the plenum

Climate control, the thing you push all the buttons on to set MAX A/C, VENT, FLOOR, etc? You can get it to display codes using the technique listed in this post:

In case you should need it repaired:

Probably cheaper to get a used one :)

Electronic Air Temperature Control aka the temperature control panel that you've been pressing buttons on

This weekend I had no air flow at all, the fuse was blown. The blower motor was seized up some how and kept blowing the fuse. Installed blower motor and I have ice cold air. Hope this is your problem because it was a $30.99 fix. Cheap cheap.
