At last me and my buddy are pondering the 1" 3/4 headers , I've had the flanges for quite some time now that I stole from ebay for 25$ a year + ago.
They're going in 2.5" collectors that we will make from scratch. Then it's going in my 3" exhaust. Before you ask , they are not equal length , it's already a good challenge as it is.

header build ing tips....

route the longest tube first
only tack weld any joints until all is mapped out
weld the header ****** last while its bolted to the back side of an old exhaust manifold so it wont warp

I hate my IPT long tubes....... Sounds like ass.

I'm glad you're doing it yourself, so you can change all the fitment I soooo hated installing mine. :)

That's one of my fears , that it's actually sounds worst in the end....

I think I will use bolts instead of nut/studs , that way it will be easier to remove.

Thanks , on the warping thing , I think I will plane them in a local speed shop afterwards , I don't trust these mild steel flanges one minute (for being straight and flat)

I agree with the sound. It's really "tingy" in the engine compartment. I don't think it sounds as good as the stock manifolds with a catless Y pipe that's on my DD.

IF they come out good and sound nice i would LOVE to buy a set!!

But until then its looking great!!

Thing is , I need the subframe down to do it cause I got no template PLUS those things will be mated to my custom exhaust , which is no-where near stock. Then you yould need alot of fitment.....

Keep up the good work! That's the sort of thing that inspires us to keep turning the wrench on our "Piece of SHO's":nut:

I'm more intrested in the weight savings though! I'm guessing 20lbs as compared to stock...+ the extra HP!

Are you using a gasless welder?(AKA Flux Core?) I would deff. stay away from that.

Nope its a Lincoln Migpack 180 mated to a 75/25 Ar/Co2 bottle. I just bought the thing mainly to do the headers :swing:

Thanks for the kind words guys , its appreciated.
