Wired mine open temporarily with a money coat hanger rig. Talk about shade-tree engineering! :nut: Time to figure out how to fix the frayed cable.

I was under the impression from looking at the searches I did, I though that you could wire it open and not worry about it anymore...

Am I misguided about that?

I've heard bad things about fuel economy if you do that....especially with your cheap ass running regular.

That's a bunch of crap. I'm not calling :BS: on you, but whoever said that was full of it.

I guess I'm cheap then.

BTW, If you want to know who the OEM manufacturer of the IMRC assy is, here you go:

Sturdy Corporation
1822 Carolina Beach Road
Wilmington, North Carolina 28401-6599
Telephone: 1-800-721-3282 or 1-910-763-2500
Fax: 1-910-763-2650
http://www.sturdycorp.com

Don't bother asking about parts. The manifold actuators produced for Ford and other OEMs are obviously manufactured under Non Disclosure Agreements and therefore are not serviceable, per Ford.

I had read no real difference in power and drivability except maybe a little low end, and no difference in fuel economy.
