Just curios and couldn't find any info on this, but is there a higher impact on the PTU from the Ecoboost vs the Standard V6?

As we know heat has a direct impact on the PTU. Between the cat, engine block, exhaust pipes, turbos and how all this is routed, is there more heat impacting the PTU on an Ecoboost than on a base V6 ? If so, does a PTU on a base V6 hold up better?

I would venture to say yes and yes.

Turbo packages create a lot of heat. So I would say they impact the PTU more because of said heat and because of the shear amount of torque the EB 3,5 makes.

That being said, wrapping down pipes, having the PTU cooler, and using a good fluid is paramount.

As above. Except powder coating is > wrap in the long run. Wrapping traps moisture, and will cause rust.

You can get the naturally aspirated with all wheel drive --but the standard v6 car will be front wheel drive and no PTU at all to worry about. The simpler the design the easier the ownership. You still get 288hp/254ib-ft torque. That ain't bad. It's a heavy car but most this size are with all the safety features and tech stuff these days.

Personally, I doubt the difference would amount to much. the downpipes and cat are what cooks the PTU. The turbo could add a little but it is kind of like adding more CO2 to the atmosphere. Once you get to a certain point the law of diminishing returns starts to take affect or is it effect.

The turbo is the direct effect of the hotter downpipes and cats that cook the PTU. Turbo manifolds, turbine side, downtube, and area around get way hotter than any N/A set up.
