So everwhere i look, i see people and websites saying that my 94 taurus premium sound rear speakers are 6x8. I took the grill off today to look at the sad little cardboard vibrators and i measured them. (Does that sound bad?) Well anyway, they measured 5x7 and there is no room to put a bigger speaker because of the metal. Am i just unbelievably dumb and i can't measure, or do i have a freak car?? Please tell me i'm dumb and don't know how to measure speakers, cause i want some 6x8's Thanks.

IIRC they are 5X7 with the JBL's at least. I think you can cut some metal and fit larger ones in there.

I have 6x8's in my 94 MTX...The holes are made for mounting 5x7's and 6x8's I believe.

I have pioneer 6x8's in there now...no modifications whatsoever, lined up perfectly with the existing tapped holes.

5X7 and 6X8 are the same size. The mounting holes are diffrent for the two "sizes" I have 6X8 infinity reference's but 5X7 will work as well.
