No , the DIS is the proper term , the EDIS is not the same thing.

Only the T-bird supercharged and the SHO share this ignition.

Thanks. I know that Ford uses EDIS wasted spark. Not to bad of a system. But then again were used to adapting EDIS to our old Z's to get rid of the dizzy. Anything is better then a Dizzy, even Unilight ones.
