Ok guys, I replaced the CPS tonight and the car still will not fire. What else should i look at as a possible cause for this condition? I am out of ideas just throw me a bone. Thanks

A little shorthand background? New cps so no spark at the plug? Battery and alt. good? Good PCM? DIS? Coil Pack? Wiggle test/short in the wiring harness?

The car has no spark at the coil pack, nothing out of it. I have a test light and an analog voltage meter as test equipment. A timing liight wouldnt do any good since there is no spark. I have tried another DIS and coil pack. Yes battery is good, assume the alternator as well. Car was running fine @70mph when it just shut off. What parts of the wiring harness should i wiggle test? i have already xchecked the connections at the DIS and coil pack, as well as the CPS hook up. What else is ignition related on this car that i sohuld be looking at? Is there a specific fuse that would control this? Could it be the ignition switch? Any idea would be welcome, thanks

Have you verified that you have fuel pressure?

I posted awhile back about how to test the coil pack and associated circuits...

Since the SEARCH fuction is semi-brain damaged, let's see what I can find that might help...

These might help. See what happens.

Tyler just a thought, but I recall seeing used EEC-IV breakout boxes on ebay for not too much money. If more trouble shooting isn't fruitful it may be an option to consider. It plugs betweeen the pcm and the wiring harness and you should be able to check for continuity with it. I've not personally used one yet but I'm sure someone here can better explain how they operate.

A BOB (Break-Out-Box) simply allows you to have a test point at each of the pins of the connector.

If you don't know how to use it, it's about as useful as a typewriter is to a chimpanzee.

If you do know how to use it or are willing to learn, it can be a very useful tool...among others.
