i know that for most all of us the stock ignition sytem is more then enuff for our purposes. if u were to do a complete system what would u use
i was thinking msd dis-4, massive speed wires and some ngk plugs

Some of us did some COPs conversions , accel coil packs and so on , and unless yours is massively modded , you wont gain anything - or barely.

Good wires (motorcraft or ac delco) and good plugs is all you need. A DIS4 goes for alot of money and you should get a turbo or a Y pipe WAY before tackling the ignition.

May add 5 hp on others but I dont think you will achieve that on a sho engine.

agree'd ignition would only need to be changed after you boosted pretty high.. the stock setup does a very good job..

if you do COP its mainly for bling factor...
granted im sure it does some threwout the power range.. my butt dyno told me it made a difference but it could very well be in my head.
i did notice a smoother idle and i also was able to gap the plugs wider.. i believe this might have added some mpg but i did no testing to prove it.

bottom line is boost it first. when the combustion chamber reaches a certain pressure the fuel becomes harder to burn and the spark can actually be blown out. thats where a hotter spark would be needed
so on a n/a your really just ******* in the wind...

can i ask you why your running a ford 8.8 on the camaro? personally if i swapped out a gm rear id go dana... the corvettes ran the dana44a (aluminum center sections) and put down 800+ hp..
a dana 44a can be had easily out of a grand cherokee with a v8... **** also came stock with 3.73 and LSD on most.

COP (Coil on plug) is the best way to go. The main reason I and other members convert to COP is due to the fact of more space and you get to lose the wires and coil pack. It is easier to remove them too. My COP wiring harness has a plug, which I wired in, where I can disconnect the entire ignition wiring harness and remove it. It makes it much easier to deal with when working around the motor, just disconnect and work!

Some of the most powerful V6 SHO's out there use stock coil packs and wires.

i run the ford rear for a few reasons. its exactly 2.5 inches shorter backing plate to backing plate, super cheap for parts. very strong. lots of gear choices and extremly easy to find i paid 20 bucks for a complete axle put 700 in it for gear, axles/ c clip elims, studs, and a spool. and for my application have a pretty much bulletproof rear for my car
