My ps gets stiff when trying to turn the wheel at idle and turns easily when i rev the engine. I'm thinking it's the Idle power steering pressure switch but don't know where it's located. Do any of you guys know where it's at off the top of your head? Thanks, Will

Do you have under-drive pulleys, or an under-drive (smaller) crank pulley?

Is the PS reservoir full? PS belt tight?

The PSPS is tested in the EEC KOER test, which you can find here:

This is part of the "goose test" where you quickly saw the steering wheel both ways, press the brake pedal, and snap the throttle wide open. BTW, you have to perform this test in the order I typed it, as snapping the throttle open ends the goose test.

PSPS failure (switch didn't change state during goose test) will either be code 52, or 521.

Thanks guys, i appreciate the advice. I replaced the belt, ps reservoir is full and no underdrive pulleys. I will have to throw the scanner and see what codes come up.

What is the idle speed? The PCM should boost the speed a touch when it sees the PS being used at idle.
