Well after my little brother dropped the clutch accidentally driving today and I saw two black marks on the ground. :oogle:

So I lifted the car home when I got home and turned the passenger side wheel.
The driver side didn't turn, then turned the driver side wheel and well the passenger side didn't turn. And I was on the phone with Paul today and said this would mean I have a Quaife.

So it seems I do :)

wouldn't that mean he has something other than stock though? cause normally if you turn one wheel the other wheel will turn opposite if its in park/gear that is?!?

yea open diff will do 2 wheel burnouts. I've seen 30ft marks!

easiest way is to go around a corner in 1st, gas it and hear for the inside tire to break loose and spin. That equals no quaife. If it pulls into the curb and u freak out. U have the best mod for a SHO!

If you have a quaife, when you turn one wheel, the other will turn the same direction. Sorry, you have no Quaife.

That's not correct, I have personally turned quiafed cars and had the opposite wheel spin the opposite direction, and then on another day it would spin the same direction. I installed the quiafe so I know it's there so there is no debate to be had:rofl:

But as far as this thread goes, stock diffs can spin both tires so pull an axle to know for sure, but odds are you do not have one if you didn't know about it already, but weirder things have happened.

Ok will pull an axle sometime soon. And does it matter which axle and what should I look for when I pull the axle?

Either axle, look for a rod going across the hole. (Your diff pin)

Rod = Stock
No rod = Quaife

I've seen the same thing with my quiafe on a 4-post lift. Some times both wheels spun the same direction, sometimes they didn't. The only absolute, is that if it's an unmodified stock diff, on a lift the wheels should not spin the same direction.

Did you install the quaife? did the previous owner tell you about a quaife?

I would find it hard to believe, unless you bought your car from a dealer, that someone would fail to mention a rebuilt transmission with a 1200 dollar part inside of it.

No I didn't install it. The previouse owner was a young kid but the ownerr before him had taken the car to nesho for its maintence and all the parts he had, had the shop put on. Have reciepts but not one for a Quaife
