I know that this comes dangerously close to condoning streat racing, but it aint all about that. It wasn't realy a race anyway. This guy pulls up next to me at a red light, in his X-Type with his stereo bumping, and edges a good three or four feet past me. So of course I turn up my Mach stereo up and gun it when the light turns green and leave him a good 2 or 3 car lengths behind me before he even starts. We get to the next light and I do it again. He then spent the next 10-15 mintues trying to keep up with me, matching me for every car I pass, untill I gun it through a yellow and he gets left behind. But I guess the point of this post is to see what kind of engine the X-Type has and what is it rated at? Let me know becuase I want to know how my 3.4 V8 stacks up to it. Thanks.
Craig
P.S. Again, I'm not pormoting streat racing.

Sounds to me like your first "Race" was a sucker punch to me. But that is cool. I thought that the Jags have the 4.0 Liter (Don't quote me on that). Don't know what it is rated at.

S-Types have the 4.0. X-Types get wither a 2.5L or a 3.0 rated i think at around 220 or 230 with all wheel drive and an optional 5-speed manual. my dad test drove one in the rain (without me you old fart!) and scared the salesman sh!tless and he said the tires never broke loose. not easy when taking a u-turn under the freeway in the rain at something around 40.

X-type 2.5 (192hp@6800)is a fancy, awd Contour svt. X-type 3.0 (231@6800) is a fancy awd Contour SVT with the 3.0 Duratec swap. Both are overpriced and overweight from what i've read. Still a nice ride and sounds like a good race.
