I need the following torque specifications for my 89 MTX if anyone has them so I can re-assembly my car now that I have my clutch out. The Ford dealer didn't have any manual that old.

1. Pressure plate to flywheel bolts
2. Transmission bell housing to engine bolts
3. Transmission mount bolts
4. Engine mount bolts
5. Subframe bolts and nuts
6. Spindle to strut bolt
7. Drive shaft nut

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am standing by meantime.

Thanks!

1. 24 ft. lbs.
2. 28-31 ft. lbs.
3. 90 ft. lbs.
4. 40-55 ft. lbs.
5. Subframe BOLTS 65-85 ft. lbs.
Steering rack to subframe NUTS 85-100 ft. lbs.
6. Lower control arm to knuckle pinch bolt 37-44 ft. lbs.
Strut to knuckle pinch bolt 73-97 ft. lbs.
7. 170-203 ft. lbs.

Not sure how you disassembled things, pinch bolt wise, but I gave you the torque specs for both. thumb

Also on the pressure plate, I think there's 2 steps...so you might try 12-14 ft. lbs. first, then 24 ft. lbs. Be sure to go in a diagonal pattern or what ever you wanna call it. :)

and make sure you use blue locktite on both the flywheel AND PP to Flywheel bolts. This is important. The clutch fork bolt should also get a dab of locktite, and be torqued to 40-lbft

I would go a little higher on the bellhousing bolts, more like 65lb-ft.

the trans mount to subframe (READ: not trans mount to transmission) should be 90lb-ft
trans mount to transmission should be 40lbft, as the aluminum threads in the MTX case can strip easy.

use neverseize on just about everything else that does not require locktite.

There are two oil-pan to trans bolts, torque these to 26lb-ft if they are not already stripped.

good luck
