alright, i posted before about a sho, i am looking to get a 97, and i am not too sure, when i popped the hood, there is a hose missing

http://shoforum.com/FeaturedSHO/Wuzzzer/enginebay.jpg

to the left of the engine, on top of a resoivor, there is a hose that is on top of it using brackets, and it goes to the back of the car, from what i saw from the picture and then goes down, on the car that i am looking at, the hose is not there and it is just empty clamps, can anyone help me on what is it and if it really is needed

I can't answer your question, but here's a little larger picture.

What part exactly are you talking about?

Oh, thanks for posting the pic of my engine, too. :D

thanks, i know how to explain now, if your facing your car and you see the window washer fluid in the top left and it's like clear with a black cap, and then below it there is the black resiovior with a black cap and orange writing on it, there is a hose clamped down on the right side of that resiovior and the SHO i am looking at the hose is not there. hopefully that helped a little more

Alrighty. Well, I believe what you're describing is the coolant overflow tank. If there's a hose missing, I'd say that it's definitely something to check into further.

thanks, but do you have any idea on the hose i am talking about and what it is, i ran the car and it sounds great. also, i called the local ford dealer and they said they have heard of shafts that are behind the engine, the woman i talked to was not any sort of mechanic and she said there is a shaft behind the engine that rots away and breaks and to replace it you have to pull the engine. any ideas on that?

also, the hose i am describing isn't a hose off that tank, it is a hose that is going over the top of it

It does come out of that clamp just so you know and will go pretty far down beside there as well. I took mine out last night to make it a bit easier to change a head light. I would say to look down in the opening to the side. It will be the smaller one with the wire loom over it.

I would guess this is the one you mean.

The item pointed to in the picture with the red arrow is the alternator output wire.
