Back in Michigan ... again.
Ok folks, need some big help here if possible! Michelle hit about a foot of standing water on Wednesday at 55 mph--it was dark, early morning, road had flooded for about 1/8 mile and she never saw the water until she hit it. Water went everywhere and the SHO obviously quit.

Long story short, I got it towed home, pulled the intake, 3 of the 6 plug wells had water in them. Dried it all out (never removed the plugs) but it's not running on all cylinders, feels like it's down 1. I tried to run a cylinder balance test but the diagnostic isn't working correctly; the car won't run the KOER test completely. It starts the test fine, idles up and down etc, but I never get the CE for the rest of the test, and if I just touch the gas it idles up but does nothing. It runs KOEO just fine.

So now I suspect a bad computer because it won't run a KOER diagnostic or a balance test correctly. I had a 95 SHO that wouldn't idle right and wouldn't run diagnostics right and it turned out to be a bad computer.

Or I could have a bad coil pack now, or I might need plugs and wires. Or there could be a problem with some of the other electronics? This is where my SHO knowledge really falters. I know nothing about CCRM/IRCM. But I do know this: The engine bay got one helluva bath.

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions on possible fixes. The plugs/wires are old (just about 100k on them) but the car was running great before the bath.

In the meantime (and the reason I'm posting here) I'll be in Toledo tomorrow (Friday) for work, and I would very much like to nab a D4U1 if anyone has one. I can get plugs/wires/coil pack locally if I have to, but nobody is going to have a D4U1 laying around here. Since I'll be in SE MI/Toledo, perhaps there are some of you guys in the southern area that can help me out?

I'll be on the road tomorrow from 8am to about noon, out at Toledo until about 2 then back on the road at about to head home. I'll be free after 2, and as long as I don't deviate too far from my route home I'll be fine (in a company vehicle).

So, anyone have a D4U1 computer to sell me? And any advice before I go throwing my wallet at the SHO? Honestly, it's not worth much to fix up...poor old car doesn't have much life left; just rotting away.

I'd give you one if I had one. I hope you can find one, and I hope it fixes your issues. :)

I'd go and re-pull the intake. Now that you've got it running again, the dread of your work will not be in your mind and you'll be able to see things that you didn't before. Guaranteed.

But if that's not it, I've got a green 95 ATX in the driveway that I'll be parting out soon. You can swing by and take the PCM out of it. It'll run ya $15. Just leave it on the speedo.

Thanks Tom and Josh for the help! I actually just got back home about a 1/2 hour ago...I'm going to try the new 'puter first tomorrow, see what happens. Then yeah, I'll dig back into it. Just not how I wanted to spend my Superbowl weekend.

I've got a hard button climate control to get down your way. You and Josh can fight over it :)

sorry I missed ya Chris, you posted past my bedtime.
Anyway, SHOs have the waste spark system, so 2 cylinders should go down if the coil is bad.

The CCRM supplies constant voltage to all injectors on a common red wire, then the PCM grounds them one at a time to fire the injectors. That means you have 6 seperate wires going back to the PCM. I would suspect a bad wire before a bad PCM in this case. A volt meter should show 12 v on the red all the time. when an injector is not firing it will also show 12v on the other wire. no current flow=no voltage drop. As the injector fires the other wire will drop to near 0 . A meter won't pick that out in a well defined manner. An O'scope will show the ouput.
do you have a stethoscope? injectors make lots of clicks when working.

Pull the big connector off the PCM and fire up the wifes hair drier. reset all the injector connectors too.
