So for my birthday in January I found a low mileage 2018 black on black SHO and pulled the trigger. Have owned two 66' Mustangs, a 98' Gt, a 2003 Mach 1, a 99' Police Interceptor and a 94' Vert Gt that was a hand me down from my dad and has since passed to my son. I also bought a SHO for my X which was a gen 3? In any event she didn't like it and traded it in for a Durango. Let's say that worked out just fine!
So i'm driving home on the freeway tonight and from the on ramp comes something....was it a Volvo? A Mazda? Maybe a Nissan. I have no idea. It was 4 doors, newer, lowered and had rims. Nice looking car. So he squares up with me and we are going about 75. He hammers it and so do I. Not sure what happened, turbo lag, but he pulls away about 3 car lengths. Maybe I was just slow or my foot missed the peddle. Anyhoo I get on it and I was shocked how I pulled away from that guy with such command.
So I let off the gas and he just flies by me. Ok, whatever. So I wait a bit and then catch up to him as we are getting into an area where we can get on it. I get next to him and we are cruising for a second and then he hits it. This time it was just embarrassing. Then i'm just playing with him. I let off, let him catch me and then nail it. Same result.
So maybe he didn't have a fast car, and I have no delusions that my car which is stock is a world beater, but he thought he car was fast, and he drove it like it was fast and his ass got shut down.
Just amazing how these cars will pull to 130 and just want to keep on going. Just love this car, probably my favorite yet. Was actually going to get a Mustang. Had been driving a 2000 Grand Marquis for the last 2 years which reminded me of my Police Interceptor. Would have loved to have dumped a ton of money into that car it was so clean and low miles, just to be a sleeper, but I got my wish with this car. It carries the torch. So happy!!
