I just cross threaded a valve cover bolt, now what?

I was reinstalling my valve cover and I noticed that the bolt continued to turn without getting any tighter so I loosened the bolt and pulled it out and to my dismay the threads on the bolt were filled with metal shavings. Anyone have this problem before and know how I can fix it?

Helicoil it. Drill out the threads, tap and insert helicoil. You will be good to go.

Heli-Coil or similar thread insert. Search on the thread size and pitch. I'm quite sure I posted it long ago

Be careful when you drill it tho. My dad and I accidentally drilled through the head.

I think a couple of mine may be messed up too from the last time. I have 1 or 2 that are a little loose. I didn't feel like screwing with them (no pun intended), so I just left them as-is. The cover is still on good and tight but it's still something I should have addressed.
