Hey guys...I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with my SHO! Here is what happened...

1994 atx - I replaced the radiator in the car recently. Turned the car on after radiator install, and it ran just fine. My dad then gave the car some gas, and it sputtered and died. It was running fine previous to this. Now it will NOT start back up! It cranks and cranks and cranks, but will not start. The only other thing that has been replaced recently is the waterpump (by Ford, ugh).

So, here's what I've checked for.

-We have spark
-We have fuel (don't know exactly amount of pressure)
-Removed the upper timing belt cover, to make sure it was still lined up correctly. It appears to still be lined up right.
-Ran codes with my crap code sensor. "All systems pass".
-Heard that it could be a fuse problem due to the coolant sensor going bad. Checked fuses, none blown.
-Tach does move while cranking engine. (I believe no movement indicates bad CPS).

So what gives? Dad and I are BOTH at a loss on this one. We really need some help! I've owned lots of SHO's and am fairly familiar with them, but this one has stumped me!

ANY help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Joel

Just some more history...car has 125k and has never had a 60k. Almost everything is original belt/plug wise. I know that's bad...just giving you a history of the car. It will be getting a 60k soon by me :)

Any ideas guys?

How did you know that you have fuel pressure? Are you hearing the fuel pump run when you turn the ignition key on?

If not, when you turn the ignition key to the ON position (not START), do you hear a "click" from the integrated control module (ICM) above and to the driver side of the radiator? If not, the fuseable link in the ICM's power supply could have been blown or or connector is not secure and you are not getting power to the fuel pump circuit.

Another possibility is the power lead to the alternator. That is the one that is held to the rear of the alternator by the 10mm nut. The battery must be disconnected to safely remove this line and to replace the radiator.

Scott -

I was hoping you'd reply. I checked the fuel pressure via the schrader valve on the intake...is there another way? When you turn the key yes I can hear the fuel pump.

As far as hearing this 'click' from the ICM, not sure about that. I will have to check that out. This ICM is above the radiator to the driver side? What does it look like?

How hard are fuseable links to replace? I don't know much about those...I had thought about that being a possibility also after looking in the owners manual.

About the power lead to the alternator...I'll have to check that one also.

Thanks for the leads Scott...I'll be checking back and updating...time to go to the shop and work on these suggestions...
