the intake is gonna be white and the runners blue like that, the pic is really light and the blue is damn near close to ford blue

Satin... I'd almost call it flat. I can't decide if I like that or not. I think I'd prefer highgloss. I wish my intake was glossier then it is. I might look into having it PC'd in black chrome next year.

i just shot on 2 coats of high temp clear :thumb:

well lets see

i got an intake comming next week, then i'm gonna take my time painting that because its gonna be the most visible thing

so 2-3 weeks from now TOPS


plus the Democtatic Nation Convention is gonna be thrown in there and i gotta work that whole week, we got 20+ planes comming in and the State Police are gonna be operating out of there along with some Cobra Attack Helicopters, its gonna be a mess

i wanna have this all done for Fun Ford weekend in Aug, so soon it'll be all together

i just took a pic of the valve covers finished but the damn cam died while uploading, i'll post it tomorrow


BTW Tony, how did you paint the intake?

Had the intake apart, and painted every thing individually, primer then a bunch of coats, and used the oven as you did.

National Guard, I imagine - right? I'm guessing all the frontline units are busy, uh, somewhere. Only branch still using Cobras for frontline is the Marines.

I held them on hand while i painted them, yes your hand will get paint but you can twist and turn to get everything on every coat.

You can balance the plenums on their sides and have them rest on a part that will hardly be visible when installed.

As for the the runners stand them up on the ports again if you have to lean them on something find a spot that will be the least noticed.

I let mine dry for a while before baking on the oven, this way whatever surface was touching anything it was already pretty dry.

And baked for a while.
