It will lose more power than you will like. Low end torque is iffy enough.

There is a vacuum line that closes the secondaries after start up until 4k rpms. You can disconnect the hose at the intake, plug the hole with something easy to take out and see if you like it. IIRC mileage goes way down as does low end torque. Try it and report back.

Ive tried it, you feel like it loses alot of torque because it prioritizes the short runner to the long runner and you lose intake volume. Naturally aspirated needs more intake manifold volume before the valves to add low end torque. Thats why carburetor spacers are made and high rise intake manifolds. All adding volume. Not much for hp as it is torque value.

since intake volume is so important, is there ANYWHERE i can get a custom intake manifold? ik the 1000hp blue turd guy has a crazy one but i def feel like going thay far would lose high end torque

No. Its an engine the world forgot about, you cant even get some bearings for it. As niche as it gets. Want a custom intake made? Design one and find a company to make it

There are a few custom intakes out there but most are for high volume boost. You are trying to make the car into something it is not with out paying the piper. There is no easy free ride on this car. Anything to make it noticeably faster with good torque requires a change in characteristics. Bore/stroke/c:r and/or boost. That will cost a bunch of money, time and broken parts. If you want a high power vehicle you need a base that can support it.

Best advice is accept the niche vehicle as it is, with a few tweeks if you want better brakes, suspension etc based on purpose of the vehicle.

Second best advice is boost and tune it and accept all the extra headaches that come with the enjoyment of that added power.

You have to pay to play. It's expensive enough to chase all the things you have to do just to keep it running

that real ig ill start saving

Your best bet is to ask blue turd if he has one laying around or knows a good shop to modify yours. Or find a lightweight car to put the engine into like an rx7. The intake manifold is reverse able so you can turn the motor around longitude and rotate the intake manifold 180 to put the throttle body to the front.
You can probably find a company that does phenolic spacers and have them make spacers for the intake. It should help. But it is a tuned port intake as it is. Im sure Ford and Yamaha put alot of thought into the runner design and length, but then again thats at stock power while keeping it efficient and keeping emissions low

I really like this. If I had money I would look at a swap into a lighter vehicle. That running engine/t ranny on a pallet in the classifieds is tempting

I was thinking the same thing about that pallet set up.
